The suspect is currently charged with second-degree murder as of now.
Reports say that 3 people went back in the bus shortly after to see if the victim was still alive but the suspect charged at them and tried slashing at them...so yeah I doubt anybody could've helped the victim in that situation.
Just in case anybody is interested but apparently the suspect worked as a guy delivering the newpaper and also at McDonalds. One of his bosses is really shocked at the entire incident because he knows the suspect as "a nice guy". It's surprising how quick some people can change.
