SO Ill take a slice of cucumber and head on my corner.
I'll partially agree with that. Beer does have an acquired taste.. As for Whiskey, likewise, but if you find the BRAND of Whiskey that you like, it's easier to get into it. I know for Jack Daniel's, they taste sweeter. Some of my friends claims it has an after-taste of banana, though I haven't notice that..
I usually mix my Whiskey with Root Beer, or Vanilla Coke. Like if I got a glass, 1/3 or 1/4 of it would be the whiskey content, the rest of the portion would be the root beer or vanilla coke, etc. That's how I learned to drink Whiskey too, but slowly. Once I get used to the taste more, I start amping it up to like 50% whiskey, 50% coke, then to 60% whiskey, 40% coke, etc.
I drink my Jagers with Tonic Water too, and I add a bit of lemon for flavoring and decoration. I do enjoy the occasional JagerBomb, but since I've drank it so many times, I prefer the JagerTonic. And this isn't overly sweet, imo.
I tried something called HPNOTIQ the other day, and it was about... 30 proof, weak stuff, but it LOOKS very fancy, and it's also very good tasting, albeit, sweet. Some liquors are sweet, but I guess that's what differentiates them from Whiskey, Beer, etc.
