I hate the Exorcist opponent, but only because he' grossly overleveled so he's got an unbelievable amount of abilities. However, I hate the gunner army guy even more. How the pineapple does he deal so much damage for a level 20? It took me a good 3 bars of my life to take down the Army gunner. Sadly he also reflects how gunners should fight. It's incredibly annoying. Running up to gunners head on is obviously suicide. Gonna run below or above them, and hopefully be close enough to launch em into the air.
The fighter AI is not a good enough representation. She hits too weak and too little times. The Slayer AI was about an even match with me, taking him down about the same speed he took me down. The magician AI is better. It took 1.5 bars of my life to take her down. Of course this was all at level 11 before I learned the awesomeness of learning my second launcher skill (a dashing Uppercut) and the sickening throw known as Smasher.
Speaking of that, I pretty much love using that ability. I'm invincible for the duration of the ability once I grab an enemy, and it's unbelievably powerful. 500-800 damage to the enemy I grabbed, ~300-400 damage to any enemies in my way when I dash and chokeslam the enemy. This is damage at level 13 as well. Also, nothing said win like chokeslaming the Tau beasts.
Only true for Launchers and SOME attacks for other gunners. Rangers have a pretty good Z axis (forward/back) range between Windmill and their various AoE shooting skills centered on them, Spitfires have grenades out the ass, and Mechs have...mechs. Launchers primarily deal with head-on attacks (How shall I kill those on my X axis? Let me count the ways - Gatling, Flamethrower, Moving Flamethrower, Steyr AMR, Laser Rifle, Cannon Ball). I counted 6. 6 high-damage long-range linear/cone attacks. PvP will get a lot easier when you're around 22-25. This is when you have a variety of skills, don't get cooldown-trapped as often, and aren't as predictable as a pre-jobber.
The gunner is hitting you so hard from a critical more than likely. Just don't rush him head-on, you'll be fine - he's not smart enough to have a hand-cannon to get away from a fighter in time.[/COLOR]
