I think that the idea was the moose eating "nuts" maybe an innuendo(right word?) or something.

Yes, there is that idea.

But the moose is just so lovable; I don't think it would have the heart to gnaw through a man's scrotum, squeeze his testicles between two incredibly strong rows of nut-shattering pearly whites, and bite down, squeezing it like a large grape between two rows of spikes. There is not a single moose out there that could be so cruel as to gain satisfaction from that feeling of the male's grapelike testicle giving way slowly between rows of teeth, followed by the stomach reeling, mouth watering explosion. There is just no way.
