Sorry MasPan, and others who have had thoughts like him; I can sympathize, but I also find this ironic.
Half of you having thoughts like this are the same kind of people who make a name for yourself here by sounding arrogant, being overly sarcastic trolls, or just being so abrasively active that your forum names are well-known. Yet you're worried about being remembered by people you know in real-life, or would like to know?
The solution is simple: get out of the house and do something with your life. Sitting around lamenting about how invisible you've been to the real world, on a forum, is one of the strongest forms of irony I've ever seen. Do you want to know the secret to feeling like a part of this world? It's not being the best troll on SP.net, or the first of some obscure class to solo Zakum on a large global MMO, but also getting outside and mastering your other passions. If you like law, debating - study law; if you like disease, medicine - study a host (no pun intended) of biological majors and work to become a doctor or a researcher; if you like art - study to become an actor, an art historian, an art teacher, a symphony conductor, a professional musician, ANYTHING! The fact of the matter is that everyone on this planet has a variety of skills and areas of interest that they're good at - all you have to do is find the ones that aren't online and cultivate them.
