That's why people live their lives, it's to try and leave some sort of impact on the world that will let them be remembered, making it seem like they never technically died since everyone remembers them.
Actually this brings up another point. When do people really die? Is it when their bodies cease to function or is it when they're forgotten by others? Many famous people have died, but we're still taught their legacy in schools and such, so does that mean they really died or are they some sort of "immortal" now? Personally, I'd be happy to leave some sort of impact in the world that would make me remembered for a long time, but I don't really think that's possible, so I'll work as hard as I can for now.
