i think death sentence is a great solution, and murderers and rapists totally deserve it.
but i also think that a better punishment would be a life of remorse.
u ask how it's done?
do it like "the count of monte christo" (the movie i mean, never read the book unfortunately)...
just make a huge jail in a remote place, everyone in this jail is thrown into a very small cell, where he can barely stand or lie down (this is different from the movie, worse!) and stay there for the rest of his life, never seeing another human being except for their birthday, at their birthday they'll get whipped and beaten, and eating crappy food twice a day with no utencils.
basically, it's like killing him while keeping him alive, he'd wish he was dead, he'll regret what he did. not only for the crime that got him there, but for every sin he ever comitted.
and the bright side of it - its reversable, unless he turns crazy which wont be surprising, but still, and rapists could actually have it too cuz seems like they only want to lock up rapists which fits this method.
the worst punishment a human being can have is being alone, unable to change anything, to choose, to live.... while still being alive.
and its not like it would cause any harm financially too.
