Xenogears =/= Xenosaga. Try not to get the two confused.

Xenogears had the exact same problems except instead of cinematics it was walls of text. Although the battle system was very smooth. Kind of boring during gear parts. All of the dungeons were maze-like and difficult to navigate, especially toward the end of the game. The story was just as insufferable as the Saga's and became even worse during the second disc where they decide gameplay was completely irrelevant and decided to swap it out with narroration.

Xenogears was hilarious because it took itself so seriously, though. It's something I recommend for people to play because it's totally playable, but it's not easy to get into because it's so ridiculous. Although the orphanage really strikes a cord and is probably one of the more memorable and best written areas of any game I've come across. DAMN THOSE CATHOLICS.
