A Warning About Illegal (Private) Servers

Private servers are run by individuals who already understand that they are performing an illegal activity. Thus, the goal of private server operators is to make money using the least amount of resources possible.

How is this statement differ from Nexon's operation I wonder? Been looking in the mirror much?

These illegal servers do not have legal or any other binding obligations to keep your information secure.

Ticking a box saying all your info belongs to us. We have every rights to scan your comp is supposed to be better?

Not just the information you write when you register for these servers, they also track IP addresses, and are able to obtain other information just by you logging into a private server.

As if Nexon hasnt done this already... You go to any where nowaday on the Internet, they track your IP. Hypocrites use this functionality while hitting the alarm bell about it.

And when you do play, you are using an unsecured, modified client which may cause you to download keyloggers, viruses, and other harmful components to your computer.

I guess GameGuard or HackShield is a tiny bit better than these viruses.

And of course, you can lose everything you worked for if the server runs into a problem or shuts down without notice. And not to mention you miss out on the in-game events in the official MapleStory. Fishing and Spirit Week events anyone?

I think Nexon meant "you stand to lose everything once we shut that server down". As for events, well..... no comment.

We strongly ask you not to compromise the integrity of the game..... In addition to warning our players about private servers, we are making sure our service is the best MapleStory experience anywhere.

Since when profit = integrity? And try to reassure your "best Maple Story experience" service to those whom has glitch-expired items.
