Nothing beats a really good snowfall that just blankets everything including sound. I was walking back to my dorm 3 years ago at around midnight and snow had started falling ~1 hr before. I had just gotten out of the gym and was already feeling pretty good... this made me so happy I went and danced on the roof of the performing arts center. 
It was still snowing the next day and classes were canceled... for 2 days. First snow day(s) at the University of Illinois in 27 years. 
Other than that.... I like rain. Nice calming rain like we got here yesterday. It was the first rain we've gotten in 21 days here. DIE SUNSHINE!! Oh, yeah.... I hate summer.
