There was a reason Obama was really careful to never exhibit anger, lest he pushes the reputation of black people back a step. Celebrities of a certain ethnicity are essentially representing their race; it won't suddenly change everybody's opinions 100% whenever they do something, but it really helps.
I really don't want to bring down the fun house mood about this but you're pretty terrible in your thinking if you immediately associate his behaviour with the behaviour of an entire race. If it reflects badly on any single group of people I'd say it's the people who keep thinking it's okay to put him on live television (probably not going to happen again)
