If they don't, I won't - I'm not enough of an ass to think it's ok to make a joke about a girl getting kidnapped and held hostage, raped, and forced to bear her captor's children. At least not until she is making jokes about it.
To note, I would make jokes when my division got in trouble in boot camp and we were being severely punished. I make jokes during hurricanes and when people almost get me killed on the road. Anything and everything is a target - nothing is sacred, excepting the trauma of other people.
