Describe your class
#13
Claw Rogue/Assassin/Hermit/Night Lord

General:

- Uses ranged attacks
- Uses Throwing-Stars to attack
- Main stats are LUK and DEX.

Pro:

- Good DPS
- Fast Attacks (Booster Available in 2nd Job)
- Main attacks (Lucky Seven, 1st Job; and later Triple Throw, 4th Job) is not affected Mastery level, therefore making training easier for lower levels.
- Has Good mobility (Haste in 2nd Job, and Flashjump in 3rd Job)
- High Evasion (Nimble Body in 1st Job, and Fake in 4th Job)
- Good Accuracy (Through DEX and also Nimble Body in 1st Job)
- Critical Damage (2nd Job)
- Favourable in boss fights (Zakum, Horntail)
- Increased potion efficiency (Alchemist, 3rd Job)
- Can earn more money with a buff (Meso Up, 3rd Job)
- Has the ability to restore HP along with inflicting damage to enemies (Drain, 2nd Job)
- Good Escape Mechanism (Dark Sight, 1st Job. However, Magic Attacks by higher level monsters go through this)
- Loses the least exp of all classes during death (Since LUK is their main stat and LUK decreases amount of exp lost)

Con:

- Until 3rd Job when the skill Avenger is acquired, mobbing ability is very poor.
- Does not get many skills until 2nd or 3rd job.
- Glass Cannon (Unless HP wash is applied)
- Uses Throwing stars, which needs to be recharged (Gets a bit easier with Spirit Claw in 4th Job. However, unlike Bow-user's Soul Arrow, the skill still eats up 200 stars).
- In return for having their positive attributes, this is one of the (if not the MOST) picked class in all of Maple. Naturally, this implies the excess demand for items and equips make their equips and items especially harder to acquire, thus making life harder (especially in higher levels). Items that are expensive in this category include: Claws, Claw Scrolls, Equips, Materials for making Claws, Throwing-Stars, etc.
- In addition to the overpriced items, many who use this class also tend to abuse the power and Kill-Steal other players, and thus the overall opinion of this class is bad.
- Throwing-Stars, the main item used for attacks, does not drop often from monsters and as said, items relating to this class are expensive, so stars will also be expensive.
- The third Job skill CopyCat, consumes a summoning rock each time used, and the rocks can be expensive or difficult to get when player has not done quests or is not in the El Nath region.
- Despite having skills such as Drain, Alchemist, Meso Up, and Fake available, this class will still be poor due to costs of items as mentioned above, and the Meso-saving skills are not available at least until 2nd Job.

Personal Opinion:

When I chose this class, it was the transition from Beta to oMS, and by then I have really gotten tired of the slow pace of training as a Warrior (Spearman-to-be) in Beta, so I wanted to play a class that would be fun. Naturally, I heard that this class is fun, so I went ahead and picked this one over the other classes. Back at the time, 3rd Job did not exist, therefore, the other classes did not interest me as much as this class. As said, this class is capable of dealing good damage from afar, and at a fast rate too. This did indeed make the class really fun to play with since there is haste (There were basically no other speed/jump modifiers in the post-beta period except if you use 10% shoe scrolls), as well as a strong critical attack.

However, even though the choice was perfect for having fun, it was also my greatest mistake of all. Given that they are the most popular class with the most expensive items, along with Maple growing over time from a small community into a high population; this class was hated beyond imagination and even though I was not one to KS or wage wars, people would still think poorly of me just because I was an Assassin. Moreover, as 3rd Job and 4th was released, the Hermits/Night Lords are still showing the same arrogant attitude towards all other players, which makes the entire class look even worse than ever (Plus, the prices of items increasing non-stop, which makes it harder to get stronger).
