2) Higher pay for teachers (I know it sounds silly considering the crisis were in right now). But yes I believe teachers deserve a larger pay, they work at home and at school nearly 17/24 hours a day for nearly a 1/8th of what my dad makes. The sad part? I'm comparing college professor pay.

Seriously though, I think teachers have a low pay partly because of the teachers' union. My sister was a TA at McGill University as part of her Phd program, and she had to sign a contract with the TA union there that said that she could not TA or prepare for TAing for more than a certain amount of time. (wtp :f6. I'm not sure if the teachers' union has this policy, but if they do, then it limits the effectiveness of good teachers because they can't prepare for classes while keeping the bad ones on board because they can get away with perform at the minimum standard. Hell, the union gets pissy wissy when a teacher gets fired for a completely legitimate reason.

So my solution would be to get rid of the teachers' union and rework the pay structure for teachers. If they do well, increase their pay. If they're pomegranatety teachers, then dock their pay or fire them. There's enough teachers looking for work and struggling to make a living, and many of them may very well be excellent teachers, so why can't they replace the ones who aren't qualified and should pursue another field of work?
