Woke up in the middle of a strange dream. Make what you will of it.
Scene opens to a man strapped to a medical machine. Dark metal and chrome, shining under a dim blue light. Strange arms and tools, coated with the black that was blood. Focus in on a small switch which flicks from "off" to "on". The robot under the slab unfolds and carefully applies an anesthetic to the man, who falls limp. It pulls a chainsaw out of a container and begins to hack off his limbs.
Cut to an exterior shot, some sort of valley, swing the view around to the end of the valley, where there's a pit with caves around the end. Men are working on these, and everything is damp/muddy. A siren blares. Men shouting imply that some sort of horrible accident occured here in the past, a river was buried, and they are now trying to clean it up. Focus in on one of the tunnels - blood is seeping through the end of it, and the man who touched it is screaming. He's hauled through a door, stripped, and put on the medical machine seen earlier.
He shouts "It's not working! The damn thing's busted!" but nobody comes. The machine starts to analyze him. Another man comes in, and on a screen flashes "Doctor. Please retrieve your medical implements so the surgery can begin." He reaches into a compartment and pulls out a chain gun, and levels it at the man on the table's head.
Then he shivers a bit, takes his hand off the trigger, and lays it down. Helps the man off the table, and says "I'm getting out of here". Pan to the back of the room and some sort of force field is revealed. He ducks through it, and is in a bright hall with what appears to be an outdoor cafe, though there's a roof high overhead. People are standing around chatting, and most seem to be injured or are nurses.
A short time later, the same man walks into this scene from the opposite direction - but he has become a woman, and is dressed quite nicely. She looks around unsure what to do, and a couple at a table invite him over. The first says "Hi, I'm Sick". When she looks uncertain, Sick clarifies "my name is Sick. Some people do call me Ms. Estoban, but I would prefer you call me Sick." The second says "I'm Raff Estoban, but call me Raffi." The man/woman sits down, and they begin to chat.
