Try swapping the memory cards from their slots. Saying MEM1 was on the first slot put it on the sceond one and viceversa.
HDD has nothing to you with a computer not showing anything on screen. If this was HDD prblem then at least the computer could boot. Do you know if the computer makes any beeps? How many of them and how long do they take between beeps? When you turn on the PC can you turn on and off NUM Lock ?
