School

I have something to say about the reading thing. Last year I was in the academic Lit. comp. class for freshmen. Sadly, out teacher had to leave to fill another job because of the original job holder having a heart attack (He's ok though, just had to recover). Our new teacher was of a lower quality and the kids knew it. When she tried to get people to read NO ONE would read. In response she would give us "Surprise Quizzes" if one person didn't read. As a person who always does her homework and reading is the easiest thing in the world, I wonder; Why do people refuse to read? "Bawwwwww I have a life no time to read 10 pages!" I doesn't take an hour to read 10 pages, unless you can't read at all. And if they had a mental problem they wouldn't BE in this class, or if they couldn't read they also wouldn't be in this class. But they refused to read and the whole class got punished. I just don't understand what is so HARD about reading? To me, it's the easiest homework ever. Then again, my class is stupid. It astonished me how unwilling kids are to learn. x_x
