Most sane people wouldn't act on that impulse. Most sane people can see that life will go on beyond that dark period.

And I guess you could say then, that most sane people can last that 9 months. And I'm going to say that that's completely different.

And how is it different?

It's not. The worse something like that can cause is stress. Stress doesn't compare to crotch cutting.

Stress leads people to do terrible things. Probably less than pain does. i.e. I think I'd be more likely to kill someone who called me names all day then someone who just beat me up. Names stick, stress sticks, people causing you stress stick. Pain is temporary, usually.
