If you don't burn pots, it's easier to gain mesos ingame 
There's at least an order of magnitude difference between the amount of money my Paladin made from 70-120 and the amount my Night Lord made (ie. 50 vs. 500mil), which I'd attribute to not spending money on pots (about 100mil) and finding better drops (the rest). Then again, even if I were to be a WK again, I wouldn't be able to train on Nightshadows or Newties, or kill the bosses I did to get those drops.
Why yes, I did choose a ranged class that can KB well. ;P
