Then it was based on damage dealt. But with hurricane you can fill up the bar practically instantly and with the save points in the dojo they added later, people started saving before papulatus and killing him too fast. Since he still gives full EXP they were abusing this to level too fast.
Now, it's based on damage taken. Since most people who reach the end of the dojo can't get hit by the first 15 or so bosses before they kill them, it doesn't charge at all, and since you can't pot whenever you want you really want to avoid getting hit as much as possible. If you're dodging attacks, then you won't be filling up the bar.
Even when I've done the dojo on 11x wind archer I couldn't get it over 1/4 of the way full with this most recent method. The dojo skills are essentially nonexistent with this because no one can possibly fill it up.
regarding the bolded part. . . that would only make sense if you meant "Then it was based on the number of hits". Otherwise sins, and partially hero's and DKs would have an okayish time filling the bar.
Moving on,
While its true that there's a noticeable different in DPS between say... corsairs/BMs/NLs when compared to DKs/Heroes/Dits (vs everyone else who has crappier DPS). . . making that bar charge by damage dealt would still make it more balanced than by number of hits wouldn't it?
