College Majors?

I'm going to be as polite as possible as I can about this. RN is for registered nurse. A nurse is not a doctor. There is not that much math in being a nurse or a doctor. The only time I've seen math vigorously employed is when the anesthesiologist was attempting to re-establish a patient's equilibrium with different chemicals because the patient was in critical condition. Medical school applicants can choose between allopathic schools (MD) or osteopathic schools (DO). Even though people bash osteopathic schools for their lower standards, they teach their students just as well as allopathic schools. This has been a general consensus on medical forums such as Student Doctor Network Forum (sdn).

If you are really curious about becoming a doctor, I would highly suggest talking to nannerz or hanging around Student Doctor Network forum. If I have been contemptuous I apologize. I have recently become an orderly at a hospital (completed CNA) and am also interested in studying for EMT-B.

Going back to the original conversation I've changed my major three times. I went through several personality swings and now I feel like I'm studying something I actually enjoy. I was absolutely miserable my second year in college and I lashed out at other people (I was kind of catty). Since then I've changed to something I'll enjoy. All my courses have the same basic requirements so I will still be able to graduate by my senior year.

Biochemistry (hated engineering calc requirements) -->

Biological Sciences (got offered a scholarship by the Molecular department to change my major so I took it) -->

Molecular Plant Biology (pre-med attitude. Plants were the easiest option and I could get a higher GPA and professors accepted a lot of research assistants) -->

Molecular Bioinformatics & Computer Science Minor (I'm doing something I enjoy and I don't care what happens to my GPA or what medical schools think. I wanted to find something I wouldn't regret doing for the rest of my life. And I think this is it.)

To be honest, this should not be a question you ask in public or in college when you meet new people unless it's a last resort. I don't think this will stop anyone here though. When you hit your junior year, hookarez about your major, the prestige of your school, or your future? The answer is not enough people.
