Really here, let's face it. There's not much to do beyond 130 or so. For some classes, like Archers, there's even less because it takes another 20 levels to get enough HP to do the really high level stuff, which leaves a HUGE BORING GAP where there's absolutely nothing to do but grind on skelegons. I don't see why I should have to waste 200 hours at Skelegons just to be able to move up from Zakum to Horntail, especially when those are the only two things left to do. By lowering the exp rates and giving all these 2x events, it's given those of us who don't enjoy spending the whole day in one map the opportunity to level up and experience more parts of the game. I never would have even tried to get to 14x if it weren't for these events. Hell, by 122 I assumed I was as high as I was going to get and had essentially given up gaining EXP at all. Then the exp reduction comes along, and the 2x, and suddenly my 8% an hour is 14% and training is bearable again! Now, being able to go to Horntail isn't such a far flung dream, because it won't require weeks and weeks of doing nothing but staring at skelegons for hours on end.
I only care about my level as far as it restricts my ability to do things. I am not the slightest bit interested in reaching level 200. It's pointless, because there is nothing I can do at level 200 that I cannot do now. If there were, then I might be more interested in reaching it. But, when the gap between being able to do one thing and the step up to the next level of content is 20-30 levels at 10+ hours per level, that's pretty ridiculous, and anything they do to decrease this, whether it's reduce the time needed or add content in between to bridge the gap, I'm for it.
All that being said the EXP curve is permanent in many other versions so it's likely to expect the same here.
