But it's not the same at all. Someone who couldn't spend 40 hours on a game wouldn't realistically go into a game like maple with the expectation of eventually hitting 200 in a REASONABLE amount of time. 40 hours is reasonable for a game with a plotline that you follow and a conclusion. Several months of playing moderately is reasonable for a game as rich as maple, maybe. Several years is not reasonable whatsoever, and most people who start playing maple don't hope, want or expect for it to take that much of their time.

Anyway the point is, Maple Story shouldn't be a lifelong investment of all our time. It should be something even casual gamers can pick up on occasion over the span of however long it's running with the expectation that they're not going to be pitifully weak in 3 years time just because they didn't play for 12 hours a day.
