Does this mean that statless characters will sort of be screwed over? There doesn't seem to be any low level or common equips that they could "make" to start out with good stats. I'm going to be really jealous as I'm making a lukless Blaze Wizard with a 0 stat shoe looking at luk mages with 8 stat shoes

That's because Maker is one of the best ideas Nexon's had for balancing statless vs- stat. While stat still isn't as strong as statless with this, if you use the lvl 120 equipment, you can get a ton of stats without even scrolling. Maker was designed with stat builds in mind, not statless.
