Monster Drop Hunting

Let's say Monster A has 10 drops and Monster B has 6 drops. But both drop Item C.

If I were hunting for Item C, would it be wise for me to hunt Monster B for a greater chance of obtaining the item or would be there no difference from hunting either monster assuming neither Monster A nor Monster B are bosses/rare spawn?
