Evidence is evidence. I do not see a legal or moral distinction between a perp confessing while in the police station, and a confession by that perp in the form of incriminating evidence on MySpace.
MySpace and Facebook are open sites with many options for privacy. If you want to, nobody who visits your MySpace can see your photos or message you without being on your friendslist. If someone committed a crime and is openly boasting about it -- in public or on the internet -- then he has no reason to complain if he's caught.
