I'll tell ya something. Straight up. I'm level 80, with 1 point in Transform/Shockwave/Energy Drain, and 28 in Energy Charge. The ONLY point I regret so far, is Shockwave. Don't even waste your time with it that early. I have yet to decide whether to get Buster or Shockwave, but for the meanwhile, definitely start with Energy Charge, and use Transform as a temporary haste, but keep in mind, Drain slows way down when on Transform. I usually cut the transform when Drain kicks in.
I can see some benefit to it if you like the Transform build, as in 4th job, mass snatching 6 monsters, will stun them and possibly crit them all with stun mastery, but IMO, its best to leave shockwave for Dragon Strike, which will still queue stun mastery.
