Anyways ...BIG NEWS from the FrozNlite front:

Yay for soloing Papulatus 200 times as an ArchMage! These past 6 months have been REALLY fun soloing the boss on and off, and I've come a long way in my solos. My first way back last year took an hour, and I've now gotten them down to a little under 10 min with my normal equips and buffs. It's a nice boss when you can kill it fastly for those who have busy lives, since you can kill it twice, do the Soul Collector quest, and organize shop, sell drops, etc., all within a nice 30 min chunk of time.

As for drops...not so nice. I'm LOLingly (new adverb yay!) proud to say that I've successfully soloed this boss 200 times without ONCE receiving any of the following: Brandish 30, Boomerang Step 30, Power Stance 20, or a Chaos Scroll. My best drops to date are 2 Hurricane 30s back when they were 20-30m, but aside from that I usually barely break even by selling two runs worth of pots. Hopefully in the future I'll have more luck, but I'm not going to be overly optimistic.

Anyways, just wanted to keep everyone updated and prove that yes, Magicians (especially LOLFPs), CAN INDEED solo bosses on a regular basis. It's a fun and USUALLY rewarding pastime, and I highly encourage any and all classes to solo when they can .
