One of our cats is scared of almost anything loud. She gets that panicked/frightened look when there's a commotion and runs around. lol It's not uncommon for cats to be scared of loud storms, just like some dogs are.
Besides, it was a way to include a little bit of Fuzzbuns (since she's never going to have a large role anyway) and add emphasis to the ferocity of the storm.
