Since you are unwilling to count event quests, I not only want maple island quests to be discounted, but in addition to that, I wish for there to be a tally of total available quests made. That is to say, a common number in each field/area quests come from that cannot be exceeded in a certain patch due to passable quests via leveling or other means. This means that number 1 would commonly be a tie of those who have completed everything, and thus "fair".
If you think that I am being unfair to ask to discount so many other quests, look at what you are asking yourself.
In which case compromise would be the eradication of the Quest Kings rankings. So be it then.
If you did not read my whole post, let me remind you that I did make a comment towards this regard by saying yes, when you remove the roughly 150-160 Event quests from the equation, you don't completely equalize the playing field as there are still 20-30ish quests per class in contention based on level and accessibility stipulations. My comment, if you recall, was not saying "let's ignore this and be ignorant," but rather that 20-30 is at most one fifth of the possible number of completed event quests, which is a much lower number of contention than the current system. Hence, negligible (especially considering those quests are still possible for several and widely available, compared to event quests from 4 years ago or whatnot).
Again as well the proposed method counts chain quests, which helps a lot of people who haven't finished this that or the other thing due to bugs and glitches. All in all, I'm not saying I hate the way that the list is and has been done, but I think that with the Quest Specialist overall quest counter, we can do a much better job leveling the playing field for all players.

We have a top 25 for total quests, and we have a top 25 for sub-questers. Two lists independent of each other. There may be problems, but EVERY list has flaws, and we can't please everyone. So how about that?
I think anyone would agree a "sub-quester" list would be even more pointless than other proposed ideas. Why not just have both lists, one that counts quests as they're counted in the quest book, and the other that counts them as counted by the Quest Specialist counter? That way those who have been playing a long time are able to show off their Event quest totals, while anyone can compete on the other list?
Oh and by the way RDal, you switched Firehuntah and IcyTwinkie on the list. Er, make that Firehuntah, IcyTwinkie AND FelixTM need to be reshuffled.
