I was talking with ExtremeBeast of Khaini over vent the other day about Quest Kings, and we came to some conclusions about the list that I wanted to propose to the general public. Currently, he has more than enough quests on his Hero to make the list, but chooses not to apply because he doesn't like the way the list is organized. When asked, he responded by saying that the list is essentially "set in stone;" since everyone can do all of any area's quests, what the top quester list really comes down to is who has completed the most event quests, which, as he puts it, is unfair for people who started the game later or whatnot. Why be penalized for not being able to do a quest that wasn't even available when you started playing?
We talked a bit more, and by the end of the discussion I figured that I wanted to ask RDal and the other Quest Kings if they'd like to consider a change to how the list is organized, computed, and built, etc. Instead of screenshotting your total combined quests, we can simply screenshot our quest window opened to the Quest Specialist quest, which shows a number out of 800 completed by which the list would be compiled. This number factors in chain quests that would help people stuck in the middle of things like Jay's Curiosity, or others who maybe can't afford the time/money to finish a the chain at the moment. It also DOESN'T take Event quests into account, which means the playing field is equalized even more to accommodate everyone rather than people who have been playing the longest.
Cons? Obviously, there are a few Maple Island quests here or there that some high levels can't do, as well as Job quests exclusive to 120+ and recent quests added for certain level ranges (ie Manji's Ariant Teleport quest that disappears at Lv. 31 and wasn't around when myself and others were that level). But in the grand scheme of comparing this total to the mass amount counted from Event quests, the number is rather negligible.
In any case, I just wanted to propose this idea and see what people thought. While I don't mind how the current list is done, I do prefer this other method as discussed with ExtremeBeast, for it is frustrating that I will forever be ranked, say, #12 due to my low Event quests total compared to others. What's the point in updating a thread if the list is already set?
