Did you play for 3 hours today? If not, that would have broke the chain, thus making the quest incomplete.
The recent Server Check also was to fix a few bugs. Quest Info may have been edited, causing a roll-back, or incompletion to Quest status.
Stuff like this happens all the time after Server Checks. That is why they advise you to log off safely.
Examples of bugs after Server Check due to staying logged in:
1. Items that are in your shop can get deleted.
2. You may lose EXP.
3. You may have to receive items from Fredrick even though you didn't have any in your store.
4. MTS expiration dates canceled
etc.
The quest expired when you logged out, whether you played 5 seconds, 5 minutes, or 5 hours. It has nothing to do with server check bugs because it happened before the server check.
