Explain to me how, when advised by Dances with Balrogs to master a single weapon, giving hybrids the advantage is fair?

They don't even give you the damage formulas, the only reason people know which weapons are better is due to players reverse engineering the game. That kind of information didn't exist when I made my Page, should I complain? (during my level 4x I figured out the stab/slash thing, cause I wanted a more accurate damage average than max+min / 2, which wasn't fitting any ingame tests I did)
