Depends you use it to train, or to boss, and where you train, more specifically, how many hko each weapon gives.

The kat is abit faster, but will have a sigiificantly lower base range compared to the rib, so if you can always 2hit something with the rib, you may not be able to do so with the kat.

So yeah, it's situational.
