There are many things that make up the prices of items, and how they inflate and deflate:
ALL of the Servers Economy. (How much money they have floating around)
ALL of the Servers Stock. (How much of the item they have floating around)
We have MTS, (The NX:Meso Ratio plays an important role too.)
How much money everyone has. (It has to be affordable)
How often people need to buy it. (People will only need a couple of the hundred thousand in the free market.)
Other then that I agree with you completely.
That's what I was trying to say: A temporary increase. Then again, isnt that what the effects of maker on the economy will be in the end?
Sure, in the long haul, there may be a permanent increase on some areas, but at the same time, the spike in the first day will be greater than on the other days, which is also temporary.
All inflation and deflation are "temporary" if you think about it; It's just a matter of how long it takes before the prices go back up or fall back down.
And people alone CAN deflate/inflate economies. I remember back in the day when Gen 30 was 1 bill and apples were 2.5 in Scania and I think 400 mill and 5ish mill in Khaini? People in Scania would transport over billions in apples and bring back Gen 30's. The Scanian Gen 30 price dropped to roughly 600 and apples inflated to 3.5 while in Khaini, apples dropped to 3ish I think? Cant remember the exact numbers but something along those lines did happen.
After thinking about it more, I agree with you in the sense that ores are harder to control as they come in greater quantities than things like HT skillbooks/apples but if someone was adamant enough, I would <think> it could be possible. And really, in the short period of time, that would be all they need to make money.
