Maker and ores - which stats do they add?

Questionable now, considering you immediately took a word that has multiple meanings to be the most insulting towards yourself rather complimentary towards the ones it was addressed at:

Literate n.

• A well-informed, educated person
  

I can clearly read and write. I am a well-informed and educated person, who just happens to miss some important details. I miss one thing and all of the sudden I'm illiterate.
And, just a suggestion, you should probably bold your sentence in the recipes thread so no one else will skip it as I did in the future.
