Quest time specifics also suggest that MapleStory time is approximately scaled with real time. Whatnot with boat schedules, the NPCs also behave as if a day was a standard 24 something, such as JM From tha Streetz dumping "trash" into an abandoned swamp shack between 5 and 8 pm pst.
Boat rides = too long? You do realise it used to take people MONTHS to travel around from area to area via boat, right?
And if anything all of what you just wrote off can be explained in the same was all other in-game times, in that they're just being displayed and condensed for the player. If an hour our time was a day their time and it said NEXT BOAT IS IN HALF A DAY PLEASE WAIT how many players would be grossly confused? JM's quest can be explained the same in that the garbage is there only on certain days for them, but appears as hours for us.
Not that difficult to comprehend time scales in such a manner!
