So if you do it three times the monster will only have 10% health left? In that video I saw the BM filling up the charge bar pretty frequently but he chose invincibility over that, or am I missing something? xD

Or did he pick invincibility because he'd be 1HKOd?

He was playing it safe. Better to live and get more hits in than hit the boss for 30% of its health and then get hit and die :/
