For that matter, a lot of people who play MS aren't just gonna drop their existing characters for a new one. If I want a strong 4th job character, the shortest route is to train 20 levels on my Hermit - not 130 on a new Pirate.
This. MasPan was 13x or so when pirates came out (LOW 13x). I made my slinger, cpq'd a bit, trained a bit, got him to 51, took a break and went back to Mas. If you know me at all in-game, you know that I spend forever leveling (or at least did until early this month). I just recently picked up my slinger again so I could scroll some Cannon Shooters (not much luck so far), and am now pretty amped to get him to Outlaw. It's still going to be a LONG time before he's 4th job, especially considering he only gets about 1/3 of my playing time. MasPan is still my main, and still my favorite character. I love my slinger's skills, and it's a lot more relaxing to train on him, sniping golems, than it is rushing skeles/skelos and constantly monitoring my HP.
Anyways, tldr, Zifhael (slinger) gets about 1/3 of my time. I still play MasPan heavily, so it's going to be a while before I get to Corsair, even if I do really enjoy playing it. I made him entirely FOR his 2nd job skills, I could care less how "weak" he is - I didn't even look at 3rd or 4th job skilltables until he was at least 4x.
