Providence Wrote:Not to unearth long-dead arguments, but during the whole incident in which Ray's, Sean's, Qi's, Luke's, mine, and others' accounts were compromised, I had been on a new computer complete with an airtight firewall, antivirus, anti-ad, and anti-spyware programs. Even before that, I had been extremely careful in regards to installing new softwares. After discovering I had been "hacked", I used KLDetector (which detects active keyloggers) and found no trace of one. The account was perhaps 2 weeks old at the time (I had created it after buying my laptop), wasn't shared, and had no relation to my CB's account which I had lent to Luke (SnugglyBuns) after his account turned up compromised. It seems extremely unlikely that I was keylogged. I can't speak for anyone else, though.
I don't believe it's as black-and-white of an issue as it seems.
The person that hacked Ray last year told him he was hacked through an exploit on Nexon's website (although most people think it's untrue and dismiss that possibility). Ray hardly plays MS, and rarely even goes to SW.net (the only MS-related website he visits), let alone go to some other website and download something like a keylogger. I don't believe in all of those "only ppl who hav u info can hak u!!1!1" arguments either. I know better. Unless they're trying to say ~20 people on Broa last year shared their account information with the same person....yeah sure, i'd totally believe that one.
