I have two bishops. ChrissieStar is lvl 155, regular build. Because of poor internet, it became too frustrating trying to train her. Since I like bishops, I decided to make a LUKless.
KrysieStar has been a dream to train. Base LUK is 4. At lvl 150, I gached 35 ticked, with the sole intention of trying to get an Ele. It didnt happen. I didnt run out and buy one because I just didnt have the funds. The internet also kept me from bossing, so there were no splits coming my way. I gached twice more, solely for merchanting purposes, but always hoping the illusive Ele would come my way. I worked on improving other equips, and still have clean shoes and shield, to work on.
At lvl 175, I found a post in the FM section of another forum. Ele#5 was up for auction. I started biding, never dreaming my limited mesos would be enough to attain it. But, they were! 429,999,999 is what it took for me to own my first Ele wand. There was only one other person bidding against me. Not a lot of demand for it, and the price was certainly right. I scrolled it with 60%. I didnt want to take a chance it would go boom. 6 out of 7 scrolls landed. I was so happy end game weapon, maybe.
And then I read the comments Eos made about how I would be weaker if they ever changed it to work properly. She very kindly took my stats and showed me how it would affect me. If the elemental effects are adjusted, my damage will be about the same as my lvl 64 Maple Shine Wand.
So, I have to try to be honest with myself about how I will feel if Nexon does this adjustment. In the first place, I knew when I purchased it, the possibility was there for this to happen. Secondly, I feel I bought for a good price. Thirdly, although I always want to improve, I will still have fun without an Ele.
I wont be happy if I have to take a reduction, but I knew from the start it was a possibility for the future. As for the argument I read about bishops keeping weapons from the class they were designed for, not in this case. It was another bishop bidding against me no one else was interested. In the mean time, I will continue to train, gain levels, and keep adding all that lovely INT, and maybe the change wont be such a shock to my system if Nexon ever does the adjustment. And who knows, they may even invent a weapon solely for bishops.
