Talk to Nexon about Elemental Wands/Staves
godofturtles Wrote:First of all, demand is an issue that exists alongside price, and even though our prices are similar to msea prices, who's to say that they wouldn't be different if bishops had the -75%? I know I'm getting into "what if's" here, but I think things would be different.

And secondly, I made my statement in the last post with the assumption that it isn't wrong for arch mages to outdamage bishops at skeles even though skeles are holy weak. Bishops use half the cost of our ultimate alongside holy symbol to compensate for this, it's an issue of balance and not who is stronger. Why don't people realize that a bishop and arch mage who both hit 99ks are not equal by any means? Its numerically impossible which is why giving arch mages these weapons is a step in the right direction and denying bishops an endgame weapon meant for another class is what was intended.

Demand is an issue that will be a double-edged sword on this. The high prices on the wands themselves is WHY some people will stake a 200ticket run at Mushroom Shrine since a wand would pay for itself and dark scrolls would make up the balance of that. If bishops flood the market with their (now) useless wands, they will kill any demand for the weapons for a long time. Many will quit, and this is supposedly going to make archmages very happy. Killing demand also means that the only people that are going to bring in new wands are the ones that make a lucky find in a 10ticket run, or a totally unrelated run for something else. The point is; they no longer become a draw to stake fortunes on because they don't make fortunes anymore. Equilibrium will then have to be achieved, which of course is going to be far lower. Furthermore, the flood we talk about is going to be largely from secondary stat wands. This isn't going to ever solve the problem, even though your class' individuals would have themselves believe that.

How many bishops hit 99K...even on Skeles O_O;; The fact that AMP makes you 20% stronger than a lvl of Genesis that few bishops but many AMs can obtain (for their ultimates) will attest to just how skewed your logic is. Just because your skills cost twice our MP has been the rallying cry for much QQ on the subject. It really does make me wonder if this would ever be a problem if Nexon had never facilitated Ultimate spamming with our lovely NLC pots---but of course that's our political third rail. We have talked about balance on this forum and others, and if you truly think that a wand that drops every 500 tickets is going to be Nexon's solution to all AM problems, then you'd be deluding yourself. These things drop far too infrequently to be part of a "balance" solution, and indeed the only real explanation to facilitate balance is the understanding that potentially the first 4 ele wands will drop as a common drop, not that 5-8 will as well. Those by far are luxury items and not necessities, and in fact we only deem 1-4 necessities if we go by this belief that this is how Nexon is going to fix the class as a whole. Furthermore, I do believe we can find a few more prominent imbalances than the one you're claiming. The fact that shadowers (prior to the patch) had DPM comparable to single target MAGES comes to mind.
