Neither was their a divine proclaimation any time in the past three years that Thou Shalt Be Luckless If Thou Art Bishop. People do in fact play based on their own ideas of what's right and wrong, not neccessarily according to some stat-whores formula for The Perfect Character.
And I've been with this game since it came out. There was a noticeable trend against LUK around 2 years ago, which means that the people that do make such high LUK characters must've been quite high leveled at that time before the switch. I myself stopped adding into LUK around that time as well, which is why there are so many Low LUK mages around. I believe you stated that your own character equips that weapon due to LUK equips?
Regardless, the central fact is that, be that as it may that the Staves 5-8 are rare, the fact remains that we can really see maybe 1 instance of that happening (that conversation on Sleepywood about it) thus far. That won't stimulate price changes, and there are probably more people that have a stockpile of staves and wands than there ever will be bishops that own them. The primary concern we deal with when talking about bishops are of course the wands.
To this, I would propose that Nexon would instead consider the ideas that we've espoused thus far. Make some of them drop, make them a more common gacha, and introduce new weapons. Someone tried to start a rumor that Nexon was trying to encourage bishops to use timeless weapons, and while it was a rumor, it has merit in implementation. Since talk about a holy wand would burst into more QQ, these would be more sensible courses of action. Again, this does not see Nexon responding to the issue of the reduction, but a gradual move away from such discussion. Bishops have a chance to slowly sell off their wands or keep them since there isn't a sudden market perturbation that causes them to rapidly lose value, and still recover some of the money. Archmages get their weapons more plentifully.
