Bishops have support skills, but that doesn't mean they have to be a support-only class. If Bishops were meant to be a pure support class they wouldn't have recieved SR in 3rd Job and monsters wouldn't be healable at all.
And if you look at the mage attacks overall, its clear that most monsters have be designed to benefit a particular element and in this case, skeles are holy weak which suggests that Holy based attacks should be doing the most damage with identical builds/equips. That same standard applies to all other monsters in the game so why should it be any different?
Especially considering a poorly equipped AM will still train faster than a godly equipped Non-AM in 4th Job.
