Would it bother me in the slightest if they were 30 mesos on the street corner now? No. I got mine months ahead of the majority of the population and paid a premium for that, that's just economics.
I paid 200m for blizzard 30 when it's going for 20m now. 400m for MW20... these things happen. Anyone who whines about it would've found something else to whine about anyhow.
Most of the complaint here isn't about price - It's about availability of these. Because an extra 2/3rds the magician classes can technically use them right now for mattack alone, they're that much harder to come by. Even people who have a billion plus mesos can't necessarily get one because they're in the hands of people they weren't made for.
If/when Nexon fixes this bishops can turn around and sell them for extortionary level prices for all I care - having more of them available at all is better than now.
Fair enough, I can also relate since I paid 300m for Genesis 30 and failed it twice, when now the books are around 150m.
But as I mentioned earlier, this availability will only be for a short while, from the initial surge of Bishops getting rid of their wands. After that the wands will still be rare while demand will be high, for Wand5 and 7 at least. The gach rate for EWands seem to have decreased since they were first released because I see fewer wands in the FM each day. I've probably seen 3 or so clean ones for sale this month. Fixing/nerfing the wands is only a temporary solution to the availablity issue.
Unlike Bishops, Elemental Wands are usually the first purchase for Arch Mages while Bishops tend to get it when they're close to their OHKO threshold (well, stat-hoars get them earlier
) which is usually late level 16x. When I had my Elemental Wand 8, it was the last purchase for me. I was fully equipped and happy with my equipment before considering an Elemental Wand. As of the latest patch, I sold off my Wand8 because of MW30. Once the book becomes available and I successfully pass it, I'll no longer need my Elemental Wand to OHKO Skeles. Unfortunately, a lot of Bishops don't have this same mindset...Increasing the gach rate for all wands would probably be a better long term solution. This way everyone is happy. Bishops get to OHKO Skeles earlier, Arch Mages can have an easier time finding a wand for sale, and Nexon can roll around in their pile of cash.
