I didn't read through the thread because I'm sure it's just the same crap from the millions of other threads on this topic, so forgive me if I repeat something that has been said already.
I don't know why people think that a holy reduction is going to magically make these wands more available and affordable. Sure, the Poison and Lightning wands will deflate but the Fire and Ice wands are going to stay expensive regardless. They're end-game weapons for Arch Mages and they provide more of a power boost than billions of mesos worth of shields, earrings, and overalls. The 700m+ price tag on these weapons is worth every meso.
I don't know why Arch Mages are constantly whining about being so "disadvantaged" that they feel that their end-game weapon should be common and affordable for everyone. End-game weapons have never been cheap and nor should they ever be. Every class has to pay a considerable amount of meso for an endgame weapon, even the less common classes like Marksmen, Corsairs, and Shadowers. My Corsair's gun was 500m when Gun scrolls are quite cheap. The boost it got in damage is still less than the boost that Mages get from their secondary Ewands (Poison and Lightning), and the price tag is roughly the same.
Arch Mages were already better trainers than any non-Bishop class before Elemental Wands, and now they're capable of OHKO-ing every neutral and elemental advantage training grounds. I rarely see threads of NL's complaining about 30m+ per 30% Claw Atk or Paladins being outshined by Heroes and DrKs on Elemental Advantage training grounds. Yet there are so many threads on Arch Mages whining about Bishops being able to use Elemental Wands. So what. Suck it up and go earn some meso. Everyone can merchant, everyone can hunt for drops, and all 3 Magician classes can sell leech.
Don't bother bringing in the "Arch Mages suck at bosses" argument. Make some friends and establish connections if you really want to Horntail/Zakum. I know several Arch Mages that are invited to Horntail and Zakum runs constantly. Some of them even host these runs. Groups rarely take random people on their run. It's such a common misconception that being a Bishop = instant invites to every boss battle.
This thread has gotten way off track and I'm reading some of the stupidest arguments ever, such as 1 Bishop buying all 4 EWands justifies nerfing them.
I do think that EWands should have had their reduction implemented early on.
