I think you'll be digging yourself a deeper hole using the double wash method.
I'm not positive if this works (I have yet to hear someone say it doesn't work), but an alternative is to pump your INT every lvl up in case you can't cover the rest of your INT needs, since additional MP from INT should be calculated by your total INT, which includes base INT.
