500 * 1000 = MB * 1000 = KB * 1000 = bytes.
500000000000 of them.

By traditional storage means:

500000000000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 465.66 GB.

That whole "formatting" thing is a myth, they just use 1000 instead of 1024 to prorate hard drives.

I don't think Dell would have any qualms with sending you a monitor with your PC, weight or not. I'd chalk that up to a lost cause, unless they were getting you a monitor from some other point of distribution, I guess.

If there's a problem with using your current monitor, such as your graphics card only supports DVI and you have a monitor with a VGA plug, you can get what is referred to as a dongle. It should cost like, 5 bucks or something.

Looks like this: http://www.jaton.com.au/IMAGEs/LBOX_VA-JDONGLE.PNG

They usually come with graphics cards, but since you got a whole machine, I doubt it came with any.

Looks like they range from $1-$10 or so. Still better than a new monitor. Also, I highly recommend dual monitor. It kicks ass. Plain and simple.
