People waste a lot more money on other games really. When you buy a PS3 or XBOX 360 you're forking over hundreds of dollars for just the system. Then people pay 60 bucks per game? It adds up pretty fast. Then maple drives people nuts with spending sometimes. Especially with the unlimited spending. People get addicted and blow their whole paychecks. If you don't want to waste money then that's fine, but as for me, I make more than enough to pay 15 dollars a month.
