I've never played the PS2 or DS versions, but honestly, I can see a reason why you should get the PSP version over the DS version- battery. When the PSP shuts off... It just sleeps. Turn it on, progress is back.
DS shuts off... you just lost all that leveling.
Disgaea is an awesome game though, but I have yet to beat it.
Since you seem to have a PSP, I'd suggest getting Prinny, it's spin-off, if you have the time/patience. It's a pretty hard platformer, but a whole lot of fun. (Comes with the (uncomplete, unfortunately) OST, too)
